Imperial Agent Guide

Armed for stealth and assassination, Imperial Agents do the jobs nobody else can and as such are trained to use everything from sleeping darts to sniper rifles, stealth belts and knives to advance probe droids.
Imperial Agents must master the arts of infiltration and assassination to advance to the Empire’s causes. The most elite operative within Imperial Intelligence is known as the “Cipher” Agent. The Cipher Agent is recruited and trained to carry out the most dangerous assignments the Empire has to offer.
Class Role
The Imperial Agent has two advanced classes the Sniper and the Operative. The Sniper advanced class focuses on ranged damage, while the Operative can be a ranged healer or melee damage.
Equipment
Imperial Agents gear is as smart as they are. They have state-of-the-art attire with high-grade Medium or Heavy armor. Many outfits are augmented with advanced communications technology, varied computer networks and security systems.

Recommended Crew Skills (Professions)
Armormech, Scavenging and Underworld Trading

Armormech will allow you to create your own powerful gear for your Imperial Agent, whether you choose the Operative or Sniper Advanced Class. With Armormech you will be able to make the following gear: Chestguards, Gloves, Bracers, Leggings, Boots, Helmets, and Belts.
Some of the items that you can make for your Imperial Sniper or Imperial Operative with Armormech are the following items:
- [Exotech Enforcer's Jacket]
- [Exotech Field Medic's Headgear]
- [Rakata Field Medic's Belt]
- [Rakata Enforcer's Armguards]
If you pick Armormech as one of your crew skills then you should also get the Scavenging and Underworld Trading crew skills. These two crew skills will give you most of the materials you will need for the armor.

Abilities and Combat
Imperial Sniper![]() The Sniper class is a true ranged class, which has two different trees dedicated towards ranged DPS (damage per second). The first tree is the Marksmanship specialization. It maximizes ranged attacks and damage. This tree will make amazing use out of the cover part of the game, allowing for amazing defensive. However, you will lose some mobility if you want to maximize your damage, or lose damage if you want to maximize mobility. The other tree is the Engineering specialization which has amazing tricks and traps. This is mainly the dominate PvP (player versus player) specialization, while the Sniper is mainly for PvE (player versus environment). |
Imperial Operative![]() The operative is a single advanced specialization which has two different talent trees. The first tree is Concealment, which sets the Operative to be very much like a rogue in other MMO’s. The Concealment tree allows access to poisons, as well as abilities such as stealth and backstab and it also gives access to close-ranged weapons. The Medicine (medic) specialization allows the Operative to become a healer. The Medic can dispel as well. |

2V-R8 – Comes with X-70B Phantom Starship Combat Type: Able to heal, but mainly used for crafting and missions. |
Suggested Companion: Taking into consideration that you are a ranged class and your wearing medium armor, you will probably want to use Vector Hyllis to sort of be a melee tank (even though he is melee damage) until you get Ensign Raina Temple. Once you get Ensign Raina then you can use her to keep you healed up so you don’t waste time having to stop to regenerate health. However, if you are a Medic Operative then you will want to use Doctor Lokin or Vector Hyllis so that you can kill mobs faster.
